- Durable, lightweight nylon with DWR finish dries quickly
- Board shorts have a 3-piece, self-lined waistband that contours to the hip, and a flat-lying fly with a single rubber button and ladder-lock drawstring closure
- Horizontal zip pocket on the right thigh self drains and has a non-corrosive plastic zipper and internal key loop
- Forward inseam at crotch eliminates chafing
- Hem hits at the knee

"I'd Like to Buy a Vowel...." 02/27/12
These board shorts are possibly the best that I have ever had the privilege of owning. I got these shorts in the Buy A Vowel Ultramarine. They have a zip pocket on the right side that is fairly large that I use to keep my phone and wallet in. There is also a key loop in the pocket for leashing your lock pickers. There is a single button tie closure which I prefer over other closures. The length is good and hangs to the middle of my knee caps. There 100% nylon and they feel like they would dry out pretty fast on a sunny day. The people up here in Fairbanks Alaska had really weird looks on their faces when I strolled by in these bad boys. Overall a great pair for anywhere highly recommended.

"Up to the task" 01/14/12
A really good pair of board short: tough and comfortable. I wear these to the beach a lot and have put them through their paces wearing for 60 days in Baja while sailing and sea kayaking. Comfortable to wear around town as well and they have great styles every year. My only complaint from wearing these in the water and to is after they're wet they start loosening and riding up more then I'd like but maybe I should just go a little smaller on the sizing. Also I eventually ripped out the fly buttons thinking I could get them on and off without undoing them so watch out, but sewing another one has worked just fine.

Board shorts that actually look good on an older guy! The Glowing Ember really Orange! Order one size smaller and they will fit great! Fabric is durable and wears well with constant sand dives. Dries quickly. The zip pocket is great for your stuff so you don't lose it in the ocean. Better than Velco!

SO, I gave these shorts to my boyfriend for his birthday. Let me tell you, he is one picky guy. He appreciates quality products that do their job and have a classic style. These shorts do just that. He also is particular about the length of board shorts and fit around the leg. "Boardshorts can be too long or too short or too bulky." These rules make it hard for a lady to give gifts! But I found a winner with these. They have enough give to appropriately run and play catch on the beach while also being modest. And the cute at the waist is pretty sexy. pick these, in any color. They are great!
"Best Boardshorts Ever" 10/22/11
Now, while these don't dry as quick as others—the fit and detailing are impeccable. I'm tired of velcro fastened flies on boardshorts that tear up the drawstrings after two wears. These on the other hand have very thoughtful features—low forward seams on the inner thigh, button fly closure, great positioned pocket, and varying lengths to satisfy any style. The fabric is substantial and has great hand and the fit is wonderful with anatomical curvature at the waistband.I use them for surfing and skimboarding and I couldn't be any happier witht hem
"The one and only." 10/05/11
Patagonia really knocked it out of the pack with these board shorts. The fabric tough, and seems like it would last an eternity. The single button fly > velcro junk. No fade. Drys super fast. Slim but not skinny fit. I'm used to wearing 34" shorts/pants, but the 33" seemed to fit best.

Wore them in shark-infested Costa Rican waters and still alive to talk about it. I credit the more subtle and adult design of these shorts (100% percent less rhinestones than other board shorts).
