Has the comfort of a pair of sweat pants pajamas, the look smart casual trend setter, and the performance or Arcteryx. This pair of pants is light weight, and the micro fiber feels so anti-microbial that I seldom need to wash it. I can't wait to test it out on a long adventure instead of just during the weekends.I got a size 34, the fit is awesome for me (5'10"), however, the length is slightly longer than idea. Perhaps half an inch to an inch shorter would have been perfect. Inseam seems to be size 32". Since the hem is sealed taped, I can't take it to a tailor to adjust. Just will have to make sure my shoes are high enough and my pants are pulled up as far as possible.JKH
I am using them right now for an extended trip. They are very light,so you can carry many pairs without adding much weight - a welcome characteristic both for backpacking adventures and standard overseas tourism.
I own a number of Rampart pants which are great. I wanted to try the Palisade because of reviews I had read. The extra cost is worth it in my opinion. The lining around the built-in belt is soft and perfect even after long hikes. The material is a little more stretchy than the Rampart, and the zippered side pockets would be a plus for some. I wore these on a 2 day hike with some rain and never felt uncomfortable. They dried quickly and they are so light with no retrictiction in movement. Arcteryx makes a superior product.
