"just about perfect expedition/trail/travel pants for women"
These pants fit wonderfully well - For perspective, I am 5'8", 130lbs, wear 29 x 34 jeans; the size 6/tall fit great. The pants have useful pockets and the perfect rise; not too high, but not hip-hugger-low as many women’s’ pants are these days. The material is substantial, but also light and packs well. They are pricey, but when I think of all the less expensive pants that I have "made do" with in past expeditions, I definitely think that they are worth it. And I confess, although I am fine with wearing men's pants out on the tundra (mostly for the inseam length and sensible pockets) it is kinda nice to have something flattering as well as functional in my pack. These also work well on the more civilized legs of your trip, such as when you are flying commercial airlines, rather than in a Twin Otter. Would be nice to see them come in gray though, I started with black ones and just purchased a brown pair. A final note; the hem is generous, and can be easily let out further if needed.
I hesitated about buying these pants but after wearing the first pair on vacation I came home and ordered 2 more pairs in different colors. Wash and wear should be the description for these pants. ..wash them before going to bed and they are ready to wear in the morning. The pockets are sufficiently deep to store passports, boarding cards etc and the zippers keep everything safe. Great buy!
