The Arc'teryx Women's Thorium AR Jacket utilizes two kinds of insulation that are strategically mapped to give you warmth where you need it most. Synthetic insulation can handle moisture better than goose down, so the Coreloft is placed along the hem, collar, sleeves and underarms (moisture-prone zones). The 700-fill down is stuffed around your torso to trap your heat and warm your core. The end result is the perfect mid-layer for heading deep into the backcountry. They say if you go deep enough into the backcountry, you'll reach a point where only people with Arc'teryx jackets can reach. They just hang out and eat granola. Pretty cool.

ARC'TERYX ATHLETIC FIT: The Arc'teryx Athletic Fit garments are considered their "standard" fit and feature complex patterns that utilize anatomical shaping and gussets to enhance motion and eliminate any excess bulk. Athletic fit styles are trimmer than Arc'teryx relaxed fit styles, but still offer room for a base layer, a light fleece mid-layer, and a synthetic or down filled mid-layer. Put simply, their Athletic Fit should fit true to size, but be sure to check out the size guide to learn how to calculate your body measurements before selecting a size.

I purchased this jacket about two months ago when I noticed it was on sale. I should have bought it sooner! It is stylish, warm, and very well made. It is my go-to puffy. I have honestly forgotten about my other ones. The weather here has ranged from below zero to 60 degrees since I bought it, and I must admit I have worn it nearly every day (besides the 60 degree ones!) either alone or as part of a layering system.I am a student and a pilot, and when I'm not flying or studying I'm playing in the mountains. This jacket is perfectly suited to everything I have put it through! The length is great, and I have found it to be a bit more comfortably roomy in the shoulders than other Arcteryx jackets I own in a size small.
I was looking for a coat that was longer than waist length to wear around town and at my kids hockey games. I have a longer North Face parka, but wanted something shorter for running around town. North Face had nothing without a hood that I liked. This jacket is light and warm. The only thing that isn't great is the sleeve length. It's a bit too long. I'm shorter, but don't usually have a problem with sleeve length. It's not bad enough to return, but not optimal.
