Score one for Big Agnes. This bag is a true 30 degree bag. I slept in 33 degree temps, and it performed great. I used a foam thermarest and a inflatable thermarest sleeping pads for the bottom side. Thats the key to this sleeping bag system. I stayed cozy warm and plenty of leg room. You will need a pillow cause I didn't think one was needed and its needed. It folds up fairly small, considering its not a down bag.
I actually won this sleeping bag as part of Moosejaw's winter giveaways (thanks again!) and I was thrilled to receive it because it is a fantastic bag. Well made and very roomy. Haven't had a chance to use the sleeve for the pad underneath, but its a revolutionary idea. Folds down small and is relatively lightweight. Machine washable too. Whats not to love!
Great bag, tons of room. I'm 6'2" - 220lbs and often feel a little constricted by most mummy bags. The Gunn Creek allows me to turn over and sleep on my side no problem. There seems to be a little more room on the sides when laying on my back then necessary (you could be pretty "big boned" and fit in this thing), but it's comes in handy for keeping flashlights, jackets, etc easily accessible. With the bag fully zipped and the hood pulled down this thing is almost like a bivy. I've used it on a couple of 20-25 degree nights in Northern Wisconsin and was very comfortable.I was a little skeptical about the BA sleep system....up until the first night. It is totally impossible to roll off of you pad which to me is the greatest thing ever (I enjoy flipping around like a dolphin in my sleep).
