The Canada Goose Men's Expedition Parka was originally developed for scientists working in research facilities at McMurdo station in Antarctica, and allows its wearers to withstand the harshest conditions and battle the elements in any extreme situation. The shell is made with Canada Goose's 195gsm Arctic-Tech and cotton blend with DWR, filled with 625 fill power white duck down, and combined with a 55gsm Nylon-weave, water-proof lining to provide complete insulation. The Men's Expedition Parka includes a 2-way adjustable tunnel hood with bracing wire to reduce wind penetration, is lined with a coyote fur ruff for added warmth, and allows you to adjust size as conditions change. Canada Goose also boasts a range of extra features in their Expedition line, including a storm flap over the front zipper, heavy-duty recessed and flexible rib-knit cuffs, four upper chest and lower body pockets with Velcro flaps, as well as another 4 pockets with zipper closures. This men's parka has a mid-thigh length with an elasticized nylon snow skirt and drawcord waist to add extra insulation beyond your torso. The Canada Goose Expedition Parka offers top notch coverage and protection in the most frigid of temperatures and unbelievably rough winds, which means you can feel 100% safer on your next intense adventure.

this jacket is great, but I'm typically a medium and I ordered a medium and my wife could fit in there with me. It is MASSIVE. Canada goose sizing is very tricky - I ended up keeing a size large citadel, but probably would need a small or xsmall for the expedition. it's a nice coat otherwise, but a serious one at that.
From the windy low 40's to well below "0",this is a comfortable coat. I wore it in a Utah mountain blizzard with fur trimmed hood up and it was like being indoors. It looks great. I get a lot of compliments on it. When you pick it up you notice it's weight of 4lbs, but you don't feel that weight when you are wearing it. For a good fit you have to order it one size smaller than you normally order -- for me, a large instead of the x-large that I normally order. I got mine through the Amazon affiliate Altrec in Oregon. The service was fantastic.
Very nice jacket of course. I am 5'9" 185lbs and have lifted weights a lot. 43 inch chest. Found the Large was just a bit too snug for me and wound up going with the XL. Jacket is EXTREMELY warm and was just what I needed for this past brutal midwest winter.
This coat is awesome! It is an extremely warm coat that is stylish and won't leave you out in the cold. The size does run large because it's made to wear layers underneath. However with this coat you won't need the layers. This coat can stand up to the coldest and snowiest winter that New England can through at you and then some! Yes, it's pricy but it's definitely worth the price!
Bought this coat for a stylish parka that would keep me warm in anything. Love the details on it and plenty of pockets to boot. Good water resistance, but not a rain shell, my body runs cold in the winter time so I like the solid warmth this provides.
Love this coat. It provides all the warmth you need down to frigid temperatures, which is doesn't even hardly reach in my location, but I am an overkill type of person. The coyote fur is a nice touch. Just a light sweater underneath or a base layer will be great insulation. I like the fit as well, I have broad shoulders, but an athletic build and this doesn't make me look like a slouch while trying to stay stylish in the city.
Why did I order this amazing parka at the beginning of Spring? So I would have it for Winter and not a not in stock response for my color and size. BTW it is a real Canada-Goose item. There are MANY web sites selling Canada-Goose for a fraction of the retail price but you have to ask yourself is it real or is it a fake? I didn't want a parka made in China that could have had chicken feathers or who knows what materials inside. I wanted the real deal and I'm glad I did. I must say that they do run large so you may want to go down a size or not if you want to layer with other items. Totally a quality item from a totally quality retailer. Very pleased with Moosejaw and their promptness of getting my items shipped fast. You will not be disappointed.
Its pretty simple. Put this parka on and there is no weather on earth that will stop you..! During the winter storms i have walked dogs at the animal shelter where i volunteer, i have touristed in Moscow in January with this thing.. It is a bit bulky, but not heavy. It has a million pockets which is nice. Also there is a metal wire in the hood to keep it from dropping. This makes the hood really functional. All in all a great jacket for really cold weather
I bought my fourth expedition parka (olive) from Moosejaw. Flawless order. The jackets are fantastic to wear. That's why I now own 5 of them & wear them everyday late October through Mid-April here in Manhattan. Warm, comfortable, stylish & practical. Never leave home without it!
"This is the single best piece of outdoor gear I have ever owned"
I've never written a review for anything before but this jacket deserves it. It's incredibly warm, well made and comfortable. It fits large as other reviewers have said (I am 6', 175lbs, wear a medium) but that's by design; by the time you're putting this on, you're probably wearing a lot of other layers, and aren't focusing on looking good. You want it to cover your thighs and have space to loft up around you.
