I loved my old pair of anasazi's that lasted me 2 whole seasons!the new model runs ever so slightly larger. consider downsizing 1/2 size. That being said, my old ones took a while to wear into and these are relatively comfortable and not too loose right out of the box.they are similar to the old model. superb edging, good heal hook, moderately aggressive, very comfortable. If you need a 'do it all' shoe this is it. Multipitch, trad, sport, bouldering all can be done well. Maybe consider a more aggressive shoe if you do strictly bouldering and single pitch sport.
"Excellent, Durable, Comfortable, and Sticky"
These shoes are my favorite pair of climbing shoes. They stick anywhere I place them on the wall. They have fantastic heels for heel hooks. The velcro makes them a breeze to put on and take off. They function amazingly outside, and are comfortable enough to wear around a gym all day. Overall, top notch shoes.
this shoe does it all, not only that but does it all well. - onyx rubber is sticky (little less sticky than C4) but more durable - heel cup pushes foot forward so all power is in big toe- stiff midsole helps with edging but not so stiff you can't feel the rock- velcro for easy on and off is great for sport- flat shoe means you can wear it all day- heel is coated in rubber great for heel hooks- looks good, simple designThe bad- Synthetic cowdura doesn't really hold up in cracks over time- can grow stinky over time- I've heard people say the heel cup pushes on their achilles and causes discomfort, I never had this problem. I didn't really like to use this shoe for bouldering or indoor climbing, preference. Sizing On the sizing device at the store I am a 12.5, I got these in a 11.5 which put my toes in a curled position but was comfortable for a couple sport pitches at a time.
I'm digging these shoes quite a bit. They work great here in the Frankenjura in all the pockets, with a nice stiff sole for edges. They smear surprisingly well for as aggressive they are and the velcroe holds them on your feets I use them everywhere from the gym to limestone to granite cracks and slabs.
I got these shoes as my first official pair that weren't old hand-offs from friends and I have to say they're absolutely worth the investment! They're always super sticky and I can trust them to get me up just about anything! I would recommend sizing up just a little, since mine are super tight and they haven't loosened up as much as I'd hoped. However, other than my lack of skill in sizing, these babies are going with me everywhere!
"No-Brainer Best All Around Climbing Shoe"
The Anasazis have always had a history of being one of the best all-around climbing shoe choices. Slightly more aggressive than the 5.10 Rogue's, but not as severe (and more comfortable) as the Blackwing's. These shoes have fantastic hard-as-a-rock edging and allow you to toe even the smallest foot holds. This is my third pair of 5.10 shoes but my first pair of Anasazis.... and I can already say I'm going to stick with this shoe for quite some time.
These shoes are incredible all-around shoes. They excel at edging, especially. These are some of the most comfortable, yet highest-performing shoes around. Looking for something more technical than Moccs? Here's your best option.
I wear a 12 in normal street shoes, I wear a 12 in the 5.10 Guide Tennie, I wear a 11 in the Moccasym, and I got this in 11.5 and 11 and I think the 11.5 fits perfectly. I can already tell it edges much better than my Moccasyms.
These are, by far the best climbing shoes I've ever worn. I can'tcount how many pairs i've gone through, they edge & smear equallywell. you can sport, trad, boulder, or gym climb in these puppies. They don't don't stretch that much so once you size them correctlyyou'll never go back to another shoe. The seem to fit people w/ side feet better than narrower feet. And with the new cup heel they don't slip out like they use to.
I've climbed with these shoes for over 3 years and a few re-soles. Pros:The rubber is great, super sticky and perfect on granite or schist. Slight downturn that is perfect for steep steeps, but also good for technical vertical angles.Great for edging.Cons:The cup for your heel might be weirdly shaped and not fit right (never fit perfectly for me).The tan fabric uppers wear away over time, especially if you are climbing a lot of cracks.Overall a great shoe and very versatile, I just wish the uppers were leather so I wouldn't get holes in the fabric!
"This is the Anasazi Velcro. It is a legend.Awesome on small pockets and edges, great on all rocks."
This is a great all around shoe. That being said, I wouldn't recommend it if you are climbing cracks all the time. It has a super rigid sole for edging and the heel is nice for hooking. Great feeling shoe, I only sized down a half size. It was initially really tight and relatively uncomfortable (as to be expected with climbing shoes) but after a week or so it formed to my foot so it was still tight but more far comfortable. Overall I recommend it, it is a great shoe!
