Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Rain Jacket Out There! LOVE this jacket. I've had this jacket for almost 2 years now and still looks brand new. I shopped around before purchasing my Marmot PreCip jacket and I couldn't be happier with my decision to purchase it. This is by far the best jacket out there. I wear this jacket all the time - camping, in town, to work, hiking, running and I've always stayed dry. I've worn it in a torrential downpour and stayed dry. It's lightweight and can be folded up to pack for any trip - I take it everywhere with me. Also has a great hood! I purchased the Green Envy/Leaf color and have received TONS of compliments on the appearance of the jacket. I give this jacket a 5/5 stars!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I purchased this jacket from I purchased this jacket from an online retailer 2 weeks ago. I went to Yellowstone last week and really gave it a workout. One evening while waiting for a geyser eruption the mosquitoes were awful, so although it was warm I put on the jacket with hood for protection. It worked great! The next morning we had snow flurries and the PreCip over a fleece vest was perfect. The wind popped up and again, the PreCip was great for protection. On the way home I wound up fueling the car in a gully-washer of a downpour, but stayed nice and dry in the PreCip. It would get 5 stars if it had a 2-way zip (not really built for a gal with hips) and if it were less *crinkly* sounding, although I realize that is the nature of fully waterproof gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Jacket! I love this jacket! I have very small wrists so I love the fact that the arms are adjustable, otherwise I end up getting my arms all wet. I am a very thin so most jackets tend to look like tents but this one is great, it isn't as wide as others yet it still allows room for other layers. Completely durable, and a great buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I liked mine so much that I liked mine so much that when I left it behind on an accident I repurchased the exact same one. It is not hot at all but keeps out moisture very well. Like the pit zips and packing capabilities. I pack a very small pack for day trips and it is no prob to fit in my pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST Raincoat Ever It's high time I write a review for my Marmot PreCip Jacket! I bought this jacket July 2004 in light blue for a 3.5 week backpacking/kayaking trip in Maine with Outward Bound.  It is now February 2014 and I STILL WEAR THIS RAINCOAT! That's TEN years, people. This shell has lasted me through: 3.5 weeks hiking through the upper Appalachian Trail and kayaking up the coast of Maine - and on top of that through two hurricanes that passed through while on the AT; Florida rainstorms and hurricane weather; professional football (and soccer) games in the rain and/or wind; 4 months backpacking Europe; a year living in snowy/windy/cold Vail and working for the mountain; rock climbing; running outside; and so much more.  Pros of the Jacket: Hood comes out far to cover my head (and hair esp!); long sleeves with velcro cuffs; long length - covers my hips which I love, so water doesn't get in my pants; the light blue color is still going strong; lightweight and breathable; side vents to breathe underarms; breast pocket to store things here and there; zipper flap has velcro which is so convenient; zipper comes up to cover neck and chin from the elements. The PreCip is great for all kinds of weather, because I've worn it in all kinds of weather. I can always count on my PreCip to keep me dry - rainwater doesn't soak through, and items stay dry inside the pockets.  I will say that about 2 years ago, I started to notice water coming through, but that was after 8 years of keeping me dry, so I don't count that as a con.  It is obvious that this jacket exceeds expectations. Jacket folds up small and can be packed into most anything. Have convinced multiple friends to purchase this jacket and they love it as well. Do yourself a favor and buy a PreCip!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for keeping you dry. You get wet, you get cold! This is not exactly what I thought it would be. I got this out and thought it was like wearing a paper jacket. It is a little noisy. The more I wore this, the more I liked it. It does not have any warmth what so ever, but it does keep you dry. I am 5' 9" and weigh 145lbs. I bought a size large. There is room to layer. I do not like tight jackets, so it is perfect for me. If you like a more snug fit and are only wearing a tank or t-shirt, you could probably consider a medium. I am glad the sleeves are long enough. Even though this isn't the exact thing I thought I was buying, I will keep it and I do like the product.,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lightweight rain jacket that you can take anywhere! This rain jacket is great - so thin & lightweight that you can roll it up & carry it in your purse for "cloudy with a chance of rain" weather. I also took this on a 3-day backpacking trip to Mt Lemmon in Tucson, AZ where there was wind & a rainstorm. It weighed next to nothing & was easily shoved in my pack for storage - barely knew it was there until I needed it! This jacket is purely for wind & rain....not insulated which is good because it keeps it light/packable & is perfect for spring/summer rain & wind. I'm 5'4" & 125lbs. I got the medium vivid blue which fits great & even has a little room for a light fleece or sweater underneath if the weather is chilly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps me dry in wretched Chicago weather This fall I decided to shoot for being an all season biker and invested in the preclip jacket and pants. I had a little sticker shock - I rarely drop more that $70 on anything- but this was worth it. I've been biking in all kinds of weather and the jacket/pants duo has kept me dry and not over-heated. As the temperature has dropped, I've been layering a fleece underneath and always stayed cozy. Also, the wrist velcro has kept water from sneaking in under my gloves. And finally, it is not so totally functional that I am ashamed to be seen in it. Surprisingly flattering. You should especially buy it if it's on sale.
