If you're looking for a 750+ fill puffy with a really nice technical hood, look no further. The warmth/weight are about what you would expect. The cut of the jacket is pretty similar to the Patagonia down sweater, maybe a bit less baggy throughout the bicep/shoulder area. I'm 5'8 145lbs so I ordered the Medium. Could have fit into the Small, but I was looking for layering room. I will say that I've noticed typical down shed, but nothing too serious. Also I noticed the seam that runs along the bottom of the jacket had frayed a bit from my 2 weeks of daily wearing. This could just be a few loose strands though, I cut them off and have yet to notice anymore noticeable wear. Also it doesn't seem to pack down as small as some of the other puffy's I've seen. This could be due to the technical hood/visor. Though If I had the option to make the hood smaller in order to have the jacket pack smaller, I wouldn't take it.
"Like it better than feathered friends daybreak"
Things I like: Warm comparable to the 900 fill daybreak jacket I returned in favor of this jacket. -Lightweight only a couple ounces more than the daybreak jacket. -Good adjustable hood. -One internal pocket big enough for a 20 oz water bottle. Absolutely great hand warmer pockets for a jacket of this weight.-zips are easy to use with gloved hands-Micro baffles prevent cold spots. -Not much experience with the DWR yet.
