I bought this jacket after having worn multiple Marmot Gravity (and other similar Marmot) soft shell jacket. I had not had a MH jacket other than the G50 since a 2007 WindStopper. I am extremely glad to have purchased the Android! It is warm, comfortable, not too stiff/rough, & very flexible. It is true to size, but is a tad bit on the larger size, as I purchased a medium & am 6'1, 175 lbs with an athletic build & broad shoulders. I highly recommend it for on the slopes, outdoors or just as a casual jacket!!
I ordered this jacket a year ago and finally got around to a review. It holds up very well the water just beads up then you can just shake it off. the slightly snugger cuffs on the inside help a lot with keeping the cold from coming in. Overall really happy so happy i just ordered my wife the women version of this jacket.
"Stylish. Comfortable. Durable. Worth the money."
The Android jacket has survived constant day to day use for over a year. I put gear through the wringer as an outdoor guide, and the jacket has held up, it looks just as good as when I purchased it.The front chest pocket is easy to open and close with one hand and the cuffed sleeves keep the elements out. The jacket is comfortable enough to sleep in on cold nights in the middle of nowhere, and stylish enough to have a night out on the town.Regardless of where you wear it, it's going to keep you dry and warm. Because of this jacket I have every ounce of faith that when I buy Mountain Hardware, I'm buying a quality made product that will live up to it's name.
I really like this jacket. I am 6'2 with long arms so sometimes i have a tough time finding jackets with long enough sleeves. I normally wear an XL, but i ordered a XXL in this jacket and it works great. I live in MN, so it gets plenty cold here and this jacket keeps me plenty warm.
I love Mountain Hardwear, and this one doesn't fail to please. I like the weight and fit of this softshell. I am 5"11" and 170 lbs, and I ordered the men's L...it's a little loose fitting, but I like it that way in order to layer underneath. I don't need a tight, slim fit for climbing or anything. I will wear it around casually and will probably be able to use it all "winter" long down here in SC. And I got a great sale price on it too. Sign up for the Moosejaw emails!
This is a durable jacket! I'm 5'10 170 lbs and i got an xl to wear daily so i have room to layer underneath, and it covers my butt when riding a bike, sitting in the cold or out on my snowmobile. I even wear it snowboarding, and sailing. It does it all well. If i were to be climbing multi-pitch routes I would have gotten a Large. It has an athletic fit with great cuffs, good size pockets, and a handy chest pocket. Zipper never gets snagged and the collar around your neck comes up to give you a good amount of protection from the elements without having a hood. Great to wear with a beanie. This jacket will last a long time, and has.
I wanted another soft-shell and after comparing several options decided to go with the Mountain Hardwear Android. The finish is high-quality, and the cuffs are nice. The jacket fits well on an athletic build, having room for layers underneath without feeling baggy. On the downside, this jacket is not overly warm- it works best indoors or with layers. The side pockets are also a bit small, so your hands end up rubbing against the zippers. Overall, still a good jacket.
The first thing I have to say about this jacket is about the wonderful butter cuffs it has. Wow they are so soft! And despite the softness of the material, they have not come apart or shown any signs of wear in the past two years of constant use. This jacket provides great wind resistance and keeps me warm into about the mid 30 degree range. The fit is nice and not entirely athletic. I'm 5'10" and 180 lbs and the large fits to where I can wear a nice thick shirt on underneath. The medium would restrict me to only enough room for a tshirt. Which is what I could only do last year when my weight was up to 208. This is an all around great looking jacket!
