The Patagonia Men’s Capilene 2 LW Bottom is a lightweight base layer for cool to warm hike trips. When you’re about to venture out in early spring and it’s just not cold enough for the heavy winter garb, the Capilene 2 is just enough to beat the chilly mornings and nights. The open-knit 100% polyester wicks away the sweat and keeps you dry so you can feel fresh throughout. The gusseted crotch provides plenty of space so you can climb over the tree that fell onto the trail with ease. The Cap 2 Bottoms also have polygiene permanent odor control right in the fabric, which means less funk and more fun.

I love these bottoms. Had them on a trip to the Sierras and was glad to have them with me, especially when it gets cold. :) Didn't sweat and all, even wearing them in 2 sleeping bags. Very comfy, not itchy and I will def use them when going snowboarding. :-)Quality of the material seems to be perfect. You def know it's Patagonia. :-)
I had been hesitant in the past to let go of the cash to get on the Capilene boat. However, I am glad I finally did! I purchase this item as part of a top/bottom set for 3-season backpacking. The material does a great job of staying warm and dry. It also packs down well, saving valuable real estate in my pack.
These are the recommended pair for summer fishing in Alaska that I purchased for my husband. He will probably use these for duck hunting this winter as well. Perfect for weather that is not too cold but need extra layers. Love the multi-functionality.
Seriously, these a great. I live in New England, and I wear these constantly from October through March commuting via bicycle (regardless of weather), as well as hiking/backpacking/camping. They're light, VERY comfortable, dry fast, don't hold any odors and wick well. Whether they're under shell pants, nylon hiking pants, jeans, or by themselves, they feel great. I'm about 6'0, with a waist around 30-32 inches, and the mediums fit and feel great. The only problem is I don't like to take them off.
