Brought this jacket on an Alaskan cruise and trip to Seattle...rain rain rain is all we saw and this jacket kept me warm and dry! Can be smooshed into the suitcase with no effort and then come out without wrinkles. Handy hood too if you forget your umbrella (or just don't want to carry one)
This jacket is almost perfect for what I wanted it for. I live in Portland Oregon so it rains a lot and can be kind of cold. This jacket keeps me dry and warm. I have not used it for hiking, but I would imagine that unless it was really cool outside, that this jacket would be to warm. The one thing I wish it had was pit zips. It is light weight and stylish. I were it around town. I'm 5'7", 170 pounds and got a medium, which fits me just about perfectly. Nice fleece lined pockets too.
