The Patagonia Men’s R1 Pullover is a workhorse of a fleece pullover ready for the mountain. Regulator grid fleece stretches for ease of movement and most importantly, spreads out moisture, drying you out faster. Sweat doesn’t even have a chance. Thumb loops at the sleeve keep the shirt in place and wrists covered properly. Easily one of my own favorite pieces, I love to wear it while snowshoeing or even just around the house to keep comfy.

"Perfect base layer for "outdoorsy" people. Also perfect for normal people."
First off. Customer service KILLED IT. The original order didn't get delivered for a stupid USPS reason. Before I could even say "wheresmuhsweaterat?", a livechat with a customer service rep had a new one overnighted to me. KILLED IT!The sweater. I've been looking for a partial zip sweater for a while and hesitated to buy the R1, because...well... it kind of seems like everyone is sporting Patagonia these days and no one likes a poser. Needless to say, I wish I wouldn't have hesitated. The R1 is seriously a PERFECT baselayer on the coldest of days, and a great stand-alone on milder days. Though this sweater will likely see more days being worn while I sit and punch a keyboard doing "work", it's also going to be the first thing in the backpack on spring/fall trips down the trail or on the water. Now...how to keep my poser brother from thinking this thing is the bees knees?
from Kind of near Chicago...but actually in Indiana.
Couldn't be any happier with this jacket. A lot of the reviews say this isn't very windproof. That hasn't been the case for me. The first hike I used this on, it was 45 degrees and blustery. Not only did this keep me warm, but I never had to pull out my wind shell. It's incredibly breathable as well. This will be a very valuable piece for many years to come.
I absolutely love this fleece by Patagonia. This is one of my most versatile layers that I have in my collection. It's super comfortable and keeps your really warm for its size. I use this fleece for every season, from skiing to hiking in the Rockies. I throw it in my day or overnight pack since it's so light and breathable. When I'm setting up camp around dusk, I throw this fleece on and I'm good to go for the rest of the night, I even sleep with the fleece on. It has a larger quarter zipper in the front to control how warm you are. It has excellent coverage for the neck and the length in the arms is fairly long. I'm 6'4 210lb and the xl fits almost perfect, I would say it's true to size. The great thing is you can use this for backpacking and for hanging around the bars. There a nicely places pocket on the chest where you can stuff your id and credit cards. The inside of the fleece has a square grid pattern inside, i feel that this makes it more breathable and allows for
I have a R1 pullover in black. Till now, it is still my favorite fleece. I love that pullover design, as it is very simple and looks cool. The zip allows you to increase the breathability of the fleece, it makes the pullover even more comfortable. Also, the thumb loop is great, it enhances the warmth of the R1, also prevent wind chill creep into you pullover. Particularly, I like the chest pocket, you can put your important stuff in it.I wear this pullover nearly everyday of my trip or just hanging out with friends. To sum up, this R1 pullover looks great, extremely comfortable and simple, good for different kinds of sports or daily use.
Anything from the Patagonia R1 series is incredible, but the pullover is probably my fav. I own one from the last 5 years they have been making them. This years revisions make it even better; smooth cuffs w/ thumb hole, longer front zip for added ventilation, front chest pocket at a slant for easier reach...all good additions. This piece is great for around town and is the perfect mid-top layer when adventuring. I think it has the most versatile range of temperature wear of anything I have. It gets worn virtually year round. My advice...get two as they will get worn often.
Use this fleece backpacking. Is more than warm enough while moving on the trail into the 30s. Layers well with a shell for added storm protection. Is stretchy and breathable, grid pattern helps to wick moisture away from skin
I ordered this thinking I was going to maybe wear it under a sweater. It is too damn warm. It will be useful now that it is -10 outside. It is super comfortable and fits just right. Im 6'0 and 215. I got the xl. Good looking by itself too. My girl said it made me look like a hero crime fighter. So now I walk around at full flex when I wear it. Everyone else thinks I look like Im trying too hard. Very warm, very comfortable, very cool.
I recently received this pullover as a birthday present. I live in Missouri where the weather is always changing. I love to run and this pullover has been all I needed on those cold (not freezing) mornings. It is light weight which makes it perfect but it still keep you warm. I would recommend this to any avid runner. There is a girl I usually run with and she says the jacket looks great and fits well.
