This jacket is very minimal, but the few things it does have work great. The zippers on the pockets are great and I can't get over how light it is. I wear it when cycling and it works like a charm. The drawstrings at the bottom even make it that much more streamlined and the zippers under the armpits are wonderful for when you start to get a little steamy. The hood is huge and fits over my helmet. I have no complaints.
"Weighs less than 1 pound and packs down to nothing! Alpinist's dream!"
Bought this jacket last fall in preparation for a climbing trip to Kentucky and West Virginia. Had some pretty extreme downpours and some serious wind coupled with. The jacket performed extremely well and was the perfect shell over my Patagonia down sweater. I tend to have trouble in the pit area of most jackets and shirts an have absolutely no restriction with this jacket. I wore the jacket a few times as a windbreaker while climbing and had no fear of tearing it or damaging it at all. Strong material for being pretty much bare bones. Keep in mind this is a shell. There is absolutely no insulation in this jacket so layer wisely. Another thing to keep in mind when layering is this jacket is not the most breathable. The pit zips help but if your layers aren't allowing ventilation you might get soggy. I got my jacket when MJ did a big sale and payed a little over half price. In my opinion the jacket is a little pricy and would probably have considered a little more money for Goretex-Pro.
