I got this pack 2 years ago for overseas travel, but I had no idea how handy it was going to be! It packs down small so that you can fit it in your suitcase but it is also is very durable. I summited both Mt. Adams and Rainier in the last month with this pack on and it worked perfectly. While everyone else in my crew was wearing their awkwardly empty 60L backpacks, I was unencumbered on my way up. I have also taken it hiking, biking, and used it as my small travel pack for everything in-between. The size could not have been more spot on!My only qualm is that the hip belt straps do not come off. So unless you're using it 100% they kind of get in the way. I also noticed that unlike my model, the new version does not have a pick axe loop which I found very useful for mountaineering. That being said, this backpack is one of my most valued pieces of gear largely for its versatility but also for it's durability. Over two years everything is completely intact. No tears or broken zippers.
