The North Face Boys' Zipline Rain Jacket is a waterproof jacket so he can stay active in wet weather. The Zipline is tough and durable, using HyVent® 2-layer membrane to keep him dry and a 100% nylon plain weave to protect the membrane from damage. The inside has been lined with small-hole mesh, which will add a touch of warmth as well as wick moisture away from his skin. It will prevent him from feeling clammy on warm wet days. The fixed hood has a brim to block driving rain from his eyes and the elastic cuffs keep drafts out.

SPECIFICATIONS of The North Face Boys' Zipline Rain Jacket
My 14 year old kid cousin got the XL, it fits great! Holds up to the rain, beads right off. He hasn't gotten a hole in it yet (which he's prone to!), so I would say that its a good coat for accident prone/super crazy kids. The only thing is, I think the hood is a little shallow, and it doesn't have toggles to tighten the hood around your face. But its really not a big deal, because this coat is toooootally worth it for the price.
Extremely durable, breathable and most of all rain proof. This jacket is a great jacket for youngsters to young adolescents. I purchased a XL for my 5'4 boy and he loves it and fits perfect. I will advise the jacket does fit slim, so if your kid is on the heavy side, buy a size larger.
We love these jackets! Everyone in our family has this it. We have bought my now 5 year old 2 of them. They are fantastic! Lightweight and really durable! I mean, rowdy, active, clumsy, crazy, 5 year old durable! He takes it to school quite a lot . . . I have been buying the black color and it still looks new. And I have washed it many time! We take these everywhere! A must for a vacation. They are light and packable, there's no bulk so they fold/roll down tiny, and of course repel water supremely. A great lightweight jacket.
