The North Face Heckler Backpack is one of the most popular North Face backpacks in the history of planet Earth. The Heckler is designed to hold most 15" laptops in a padded sleeve in the large main compartment, and also features a front panel compartment for additional organization, and a pair of side mesh water bottle pockets to keep a couple of Nalgenes handy when on the move. Like all North Face backpacks, the Heckler wants you to be super comfortable on your way to class or work. The Heckler features North Face Flex Vent injection-molded shoulder straps, a comfy, stitched foam back panel, and a removable hipbelt. Got a ton of crap? It's cool because the Heckler backpack offers a ton of room. We're talking 34 liters, or 2,080 cubic inches of space. I have enough room in my Heckler to bring my baby blanket to that boring history class for naps.

"Great quality, decent price" 01/03/12
This back pack is a little on the expensive side, but thankfully I got it with my rewards points. I absolutely love it. You can easily fit books, smacks, water, a laptop, and plenty more. It's amazing how much you can fit in there. This fall I'm going to college and I can't wait to use this there! The only downsides could be cost (which in comparison to some is a great deal) and also the back isn't very padded but you don't really notice it.
"great college backpack" 12/20/11
Works really well as an every day backpack for college students. I feel like my laptop is safe and secure in the laptop slot even without a case. I love that there are little pockets and compartments everywhere so that I can store lotion, makeup, calculators, everything that you could possibly need! It still feels pretty lightweight with all my things in there. I got the light blue color and it is really pretty in person.
"Can't say enough great stuff about these backpacks!" 12/15/11
Bought 3 last year. 2 kids in college and 1 in high school. They all love this pack. Can stuff them full of books, gear, food, etc... Now, middle schooler wants the same one as her sisters! Yay for me,
"Great backpack - Durable and quite sizeable" 12/05/11
I have owned other backpacks in the past that have just fallen apart after a couple of years. I typically use my backpack for lugging around loads of books and my laptop at college in Michigan (Go Blue!). I've had this backpack for three years now and it's still holding strong. The built-in laptop compartment is convenient especially if you do not have a case. All in all am very pleased with my purchase and will continue to use it until it falls apart (hopefully not anytime soon). My only quibble is that it in the rain it gets fairly wet and the material gets soaked after a period of time.
"Love NF bags!" 10/28/11
Bought this for my bf who needed a new bag after his Jansport fell apart after a few years. He uses this bag everytime he goes away for work or as an overnight bag. It's really roomy and holds a lot! Very durable, sturdy and great quality. He loves all the separate pockets. Would be a great bag for hiking.
"perfect for school" 09/28/11
I carried my north face book bag all throughout college and i couldn't have chosen a more perfect bag. it's very roomy and helped me stay really organized. When I wasn't using it for school, it made a great bag to take on camping trips as well.
"good bang for ya buck." 08/16/11
I needed a backpack for school with a good laptop holder for school and for that purpose it will more than do the job. My laptop fits perfectly as well as all my books. I am very curious to how it will hold up as a weekend daypack when camping. It seems really thin and in an area surrounded with briers and brush that is a real concern. Although when it comes to school this backpack is more than adequate to do the job. In the sense of using it as a daypack I might look for something a little more rugged and thick to do the job.
"I'll have this for quite a few years" 07/28/11
I got this for the past school year; it still looks completely new even after almost everyday use (!!) the only real problem is it lacks back support that excels, it doesn't distribute or cushion the weight of my books in a particularly helpful way like previous backpacks have. It is, however, stylish and has many convenient pockets/ pouches for organization (the side ones are great for storing your phone/ipod so you don't have to dig everywhere for it when you're walking)
