The North Face Men’s Impulse Active ¼ Zip is a running shirt for the cooler in-between seasons. Whether you start your run in the early morning or late afternoon, the Impulse Active works to keep the chill off and wicks the sweat when you heat up. FlashDry technology not only wicks, but ensures that sweat dries more quickly. Thumbholes pullover your hand just enough for extra warmth and they're out of mind when not in use. A security chest pocket can hold an mp3 player or even a snack.

"Excellent Midlayer, Delicate in the Wash"
This is a great midlayer for winter and cold/cool weather, medium to high output exercise or for some added warmth on descents from the summit as it's super lightweight and packable. I would go jogging and biking with this in D.C. when the wind chill was below freezing and found it to be plenty warm, despite how thin it is. The same goes for hiking in the Himalayan foothills in the early morning or when the sun was behind the clouds. What's more, it wicks sweat as fast as a baselayer. The thumb holes are brilliant, as is the chest pocket and quarter-zip, which is really great for regulating temperature. My only qualm is that the piece I had, which I bought from TNF store and not Moosejaw, seemed rather cheaply constructed. After a few washes, the stitching around the waist was fraying, while all over the fabric was pilling. This only worsened with time. It remained wearable and functional, but increasingly came to look as though it had been beaten with an ugly stick.
I buy these jackets for my husband who owns his own auto glass business, they stand up to cold weather and his rugged abuse for several years, he wears one every day they are warm yet breathable and has a nice pocket for his iPhone which is in the chest area...this is an important location so it is out of the way when he works, yet is available for customer calls...
