"Return it" 05/19/12
Based on others review I decided to give this jacket a try. I went on a 2 week southern Italy backpacking trip in March (rainy season), and was sorely disappointed in this item. It's a cheaper material than other competitors similar items and I found this jacket to be cold. Also, it vented poorly which meant the dreaded hot and sweaty feeling. The sleeves were too short and I didn't like the fact that you must always have the hood out. The lack of an inner collar in addition to the hood was a huge issue for me. I returned this item and got a competitors instead and I'm so much happier.
"Great buy, could have better hardware" 04/23/12
Overall I am extremely thrilled with this jacket. Living in Michigan we see hot, cold, windy, rainy, and snowy...often all in the same day. While this jacket is not lined, it does an exceptional job of keeping you "just right" temperature wise. The only thing that stopped me from rating this "Love it" are the zippers. Even though this is a lightweight jacket, the zippers and zipper pulls just feel flimsy. If you're going to be abusing this jacket you may want to look at something a bit hardier.

I don't usually write review, but when I do, it is for kick ass stuff. A-W-E-S-O-M-E waterproof shell. Excellent wind breaker as well. Has all the extra features you didn't know you wanted...vented under arms, adjustment cuffs, and breathable. Just buy it.
"Lightweight, Waterproof, Windproof - Comfortable" 03/26/12
I'm 6', 200lbs, the large fits me nicely. If you prefer long jackets you may want to look for something a bit longer but for me this is great.Armpit vents, hand pockets, adjustable Velcro at the wrists, drawstrings on both sides of the waist (some jackets at this level only have the drawstring on one side). Hood also has drawstrings allowing you to cover your face almost entirely if the wind and rain is very intense.Overall a great jacket, comfortable and lightweight.
"Rain Jacket that will keep you dry" 03/12/12
I've used the venture jacket in some pretty heavy rain around town and its done the job keeping me dry. It's not the most breathable jacket but for the price i don't expect it to perform like a goretex jacket that cost 4x as much. Its pretty simple and gets the job done. Good jacket over all.
