I have owned several models of vibram five finger shoes. These are one of my favorite ones. Very comfortable and the tread is perfect for traction in all directions. I use these to go running on the wood trails with my husky and they are a real asset to have for it. I can run through the mud and over rocks and roots without any bruising. They really live up to their name as trail runners. I also like the way they look compared to the previous model. If your looking for a comfortable trail runner you can't go wrong with these.
"Great for trail running if you do it like a spider monkey!"
Yes I know that these kind of shoes don't make you run faster, jump higher, and help you out run a giant dog in a sandlot. But they feel so great. The extra thick tread on the souls get good grip on rocks and damp dirt. I've owned ever pair of Spyridon to come out and very year when the new ones come out they don't disappoint. If you like the original you'll like these ones. If these kind of shoes are not for you, then this particular pair probably wont ether. The only down side about the shoe (and Vibram's in particular) is they don't last long if you are a serious runner. Expect them not to last you more than a year. Also make sure to try out the shoes in person because the Vibram's sizing isn't always that accurate.
Most people think I'm crazy for having over 30 pair of Vibrams ... but that's quite alright, because I love my VFFs! They're all I wear. After buying a pair of the new MRs in Military Green and trying them out, I had to order the other 2 colors (blk/grey & grey/orange) from Moosejaw. I have always found Vibram's Spyridon line to be one of their most, if not the most, comfortable shoes in Vibram's line-up. But this new MR (mud runner) is now my new favorite! All of the Spyridon laced models are a little tougher to put on because the laces are shorter which creates a tighter opening to get your foot through, but the extra effort is definitely worth it! The MR model has a new polyester upper that is more comfortable than previous models which, when combined with their outstanding 4mm thick sole design that incorporates a "rock plate" for extra protection, makes this a must have for the true VFF fan!
