"Fantastic made in USA alpine climbing jacket"
Great jacket for alpine climbing. I use it as an uber warm mid layer under my shell or as a stand alone with a solid base layer underneath if its above 10 degrees or so. The epic outer is fantastic, light and breathable, water resistant. Not waterproof, that's what a shell is for. The stretchy wind pro fleece panels on the sides offer mobility and more breath ability exactly where u need it. As for the cons on from jackitchNot great as a ski jacket--- not designed to be one, the WT belay jacket could fit that bill thoughNot enough pockets for your gadgets? I'm sure cabelas or dicks sporting goods has a china made POS that has lots of pockets
"Reminiscent of the ubiquitous Patagonia and knock-off staple of days gone by"
Whim. Looked great and the ability to customize was all too compelling. The Primaloft One, was toasty for daily use with or without layering. The construction is good. Here comes the BUT... As an every day jacket, Great! As a ski jacket not so much. The wind finds its way through this jacket - without pit zips. Not enough pockets to fit my gadgets - external side pockets too small to carry my gloves and placement of the zippers creates unflattering bowing out if open. The cuffs are comfortable, easy on, easy off without cumbersome velcro adjustments - convenient but velcro albeit a nusience.. All-in-all a nice around town, hiking. For skiing, I went out and just bought another Arcteryx.
